Our History
Our Governance: The CMC Vimala Province
St. Teresa’s Public School is owned and managed by Sisters of the Congregation of the Mother of Carmel (CMC), specifically under the Vimala Province, Ernakulam.
The Congregation of the Mother of Carmel (CMC) stands as the first indigenous religious congregation for women in India. Founded in 1866 by the visionary Saint Kuriakose Elias Chavara and Rev. Fr. Leopold Beccaro, the CMC sisters continue a legacy of “redemptive uplift” for the community. With a specific focus on empowering children through transformative education, our management leverages decades of expertise in governing prestigious institutions nationwide. We are committed to fostering a generation defined by both academic excellence and unwavering moral integrity.
The Legacy of Excellence: St. Teresa’s Public School, Jalgaon
The story of St. Teresa’s Public School is a testament to the visionary leadership of the CMC Sisters and their unwavering commitment to the Jalgaon community. While the school serves as a modern beacon of academic excellence today, its foundation is built upon a storied 35-year legacy inherited from its predecessor, St. Teresa’s Higher Secondary School. This deep-rooted history ensures that while our facilities are contemporary, our values remain timeless. A Foundation of Faith and Service
The journey in Jalgaon began in 1989, when the pioneering sisters of the CMC Vimala Province arrived with a mission to provide spiritual and educational nourishment to the region. Guided by the timeless values of our patroness, St. Teresa of Avila, the institution quickly built an impeccable reputation for discipline and character formation. For 35 years, the school has meticulously upheld high State Board standards while fostering a truly holistic environment. The ultimate fruit of this dedication is reflected in our distinguished alumni, who now shine across the globe, carrying the Teresian flame of excellence into every field they touch. Answering the Call: The Need of the Hour
As the global educational landscape pivoted toward digital integration and international benchmarks, a new necessity emerged for our community. Recognizing a growing preference among parents for a curriculum that offers nationwide competitive advantages, our Management initiated the transition to a CBSE framework. This shift harmonizes the traditional “Teresian Spirit” with a forward-thinking, technologically-driven academic structure. Driven by our motto, “Life in Fullness,” this new chapter introduces cutting-edge methodologies and future-ready skills, ensuring our students are prepared for global challenges while remaining anchored in our core values.
